Tax Accountant

The Role: Tax Accountant

As a Tax Accountant at PIB Group, you will join the organisation in a period of continued and sustained growth and transformation. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations while maximizing tax efficiency for the Group. You will be accountable for supporting the corporate tax compliance and tax reporting function of the UK and international group companies working closely with the Group Tax Managers. You will assist the tax manager in optimising the Group tax position from a domestic and international perspective and ensure compliance with all corporate filing deadlines as the business continues to expand into Europe and beyond.

Your work will be varied collaborating closely with internal teams as well as international teams of overseas group companies.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to)

Preparation of annual corporation tax computations for UK companies.
Support the year-end tax reporting process under UK GAAP and IFRS including preparation of tax disclosures in the annual statutory accounts.
Calculation of quarterly tax instalment payments for the group.
Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in tax accounting.
Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in tax law and accounting principles.
Assisting the tax Manager with ad-hoc project/other work as and when required.
Proactively seeking feedback and identifying areas for improvement in processes and procedures.
Experience & Qualifications:

Professional Accounting/Tax ACCA/ACA qualification.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CTA) preferred.
Proven experience in Tax Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of UK tax laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to clients and colleagues.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of ethics and integrity in tax accounting practices.
Knowledge & Skills:

Through knowledge and understanding of UK corporate tax legislation.
Use of European foreign language (desirable).
Knowledge of Alphatax
Experience of dealing with and understanding international tax regimes and requirements, (desirable).
Strong IFRS tax accounting working knowledge and experience.
Excellent numeracy skills;
A logical and analytical mind;
Problem-solving skills;
Time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines;
Attention to detail; and good commercial awareness;
