Job Title: Wood Machinist

Location: Cramlington 

Salary: £13.56 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:15 pm (30-minute unpaid lunch, 2 paid tea breaks)

Are you passionate about woodworking and skilled in crafting high-quality wooden furniture components? We are seeking a dedicated Wood Machinist to join our team at [Company Name]. As a Wood Machinist, you will play a vital role in producing exceptional wooden furniture frame components for both our standard range and bespoke services.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize a variety of techniques and materials to produce wooden furniture frame components according to job order specifications.
Safely and accurately set up machinery and tools, including cross-cut and rip saws, planning machines, spindle moulders, and sanding equipment.
Employ specialist equipment and techniques to saw and cut wood to the required size and length.
Monitor machine operations, detect problems, and report any issues to the Supervisor.
Start machines, adjust controls, and conduct trial cuts to ensure proper operation.
Feed stock through mechanisms, shaping it to produce desired components.
Maintain a clean and tidy work area and adhere to health and safety protocols.
Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in setting up and operating conventional wood machinery.
Ideally experienced in using and programming machines from an industrial/woodmill background.
Knowledge of various wood materials and their properties.
Close attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills.
