About the role

Background and details:

We are looking for a PC Network Support Engineer, based in our Redditch Head Office, to monitor and maintain computer systems, troubleshooting applications, wide-area networks, servers, and routers. 

A key part of the role includes providing a high-quality service to individuals and departments ensuring a consistently high level of customer service is provided to all employees.

Working within the PC Network Support Team, this role is ideal for candidates who excel in multitasking and have a passion for continually updating their knowledge.

Duties and responsibilities:

To ensure that the IT network is stable, secure and available.

To ensure that the IT network is maintained to the highest applicable software levels.

To ensure that all devices on the IT network are maintained to the highest applicable software levels.

Provide support for device and network support activities.

To ensure that all network and cloud-based data is secure and recoverable.

To ensure all user network data is in accordance with organisational standards relating to content, taste and corporate standards.

Ensure that network system documentation is relevant and current.

Administer secure user access to all network systems.

Monitor and report on all aspects of the network concerning security, performance and reliability.

To assist the other members of the IT Department as required.

Experience and Qualifications:

Experience of working in a similar role

Experience of Windows Server Operating system(s) (2008/2012/2016,2019)

Experience of Microsoft Office Support and Development, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft SQL

In depth knowledge of Anti-virus and Threat Management Systems

A Level / NVQ / BTEC or equivalent in ICT Systems Support or related field

Ability to communicate at all levels and to explain technical problems in simple terms.

A dedication to continually updating knowledge

Excellent at problem solving, being organised and working within a team

Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field - desirable
