Our client, a renowned medical technology firm, is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join them based at their client’s site in Leeds. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and optimisation of cutting-edge machines used in the testing of medical implants, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in healthcare.
 
Job Description:
 
As a Mechanical  Engineer specialising in medical implant testing machines, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and functionality of equipment critical to the development of implants. Your responsibilities will include:
 
Maintenance and Repair:
 
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspection, lubrication, and calibration, to ensure optimal performance of testing machines.
 
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, utilising a variety of tools and techniques to minimise downtime and maintain productivity
 
Documentation and Reporting:
 
Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities
 
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and regulatory standards, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
 
Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices in medical device manufacturing and testing, incorporating relevant updates into maintenance procedures and protocols.
 
Qualifications/Experience:
 
Minimum of a HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
 
Demonstrable practical skills in mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
 
Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or testing environment.
 
Capable of interpreting CAD and schematics
 
Driving licence
 
Full training will be provided on the specific machinery
 
Hours 8am – 4.30 pm Mon – Fri
 
Salary £35,000 - £40,000 DOE
