Job Title: Technical Support Engineer

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Laindon, Essex,

Working hours: Monday – Thursday, 9am – 5:30pm

Friday, 9am – 5pm

Includes a 1 hour lunch

Salary package: £30,000 - £39,000

Base: £35,000

Yearly bonus: £4,000

Overtime rate: Monday 9am – Friday 5pm is at x1.5

Friday 5pm – Monday 9am is at x2

Continuous training and personal development courses will be provided

Company card for expenses while on work trips will be provided

Who are we?

Spanish manufacturer of security equipment (intercom, access & CCTV) in which we have been in the industry for 75 years, we are in the higher end of intercom manufacturing with our core focus being on large residential estates & tower blocks.

Job summary

The technical support engineers duties will consist of offering remote and on-site support to our customers. The remote assistance will consist of: emails, telephone conversations and / or remote PC login sessions. On-site support can consist of in-depth diagnosing where remote solutions aren’t achievable and commissioning systems that our customers have installed.

We’ll also be supporting the sales team from a technical perspective which includes: carrying out site surveys, reviewing specifications and drawings resulting in us offering quotations & preparing AutoCAD drawings for first fixing and second fixing solutions.

The successful candidate will provide excellent technical assistance and support to our customers, resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction. The role requires a strong technical knowledge, exceptional troubleshooting abilities and a customer-oriented mindset.

The ideal candidate

* 2+ years of experience in a technical support role.

* Fair knowledge of computer hardware and software.

* Strong technical background with a good understanding of electronics, IT and / or security industry equipment.

* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think logically and act decisively under pressure.

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with a focus on delivering clear and concise instructions to customers.

* Customer oriented mindset with a passion for providing exceptional customer service.

* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-orientated environment
