Job Description

4 months contract with Local government

Job Summary:

·         This post has responsibility for managing the mobile phone contracts, associated products and telecommunications services on behalf of the Council and onward provision of services to the Council and its partners.

·         To deliver a high quality telephone service with the continued development of mobile, voice and data integration.

Key Duties (Sample):

·         Provide as part of the IT service an effective management of the Council’s Mobile and other Telecommunication Systems, Call Management and all other associated systems.

·         To proactively develop the mobile device service to the Council to ensure best ‘fit for purpose’ devices/hardware/software is available and based on technical feasibility assessment.

·         Create information reports to determine actions to uphold policies, practise, account management and financial accountability, using the software tools utilised in the IT Department.

·         Carry out business data analysis on mobile and other telecommunications systems, spending and make strategic recommendations for savings.

·         Operate effectively within project environment to enhance service delivery, co-ordinate and manage equipment roll outs.

·         Maintain and manage the security and integrity of inventory for appropriate Council contracts both physical and electronic/web based.

·         Responsible for maintaining auditable working practices and operational procedures in order to meet the Councils obligations/polices and requirements.

·         To adhere to maintain, and where appropriate implement all relevant Council policies and procedures including: Management System, Physical and Logical Security, Business Continuity, Health & Safety.

·         Assess new available software upgrades for mobile devices against customer requirements and arrange appropriate instructions for relevant downloads.

·         Design, prepare and produce smart phone and mobile device technical training documentation and communicate with users on how to locate the user guides

Essential Experience Required:

·         A relevant degree or equivalent work related experience.

·         Strong Knowledge of Windows, Office and helpdesk applications.

·         Knowledge and experience of mobile and telephony systems, contract and financial management.
