Initial 6-month interim contract 
South East Local Authority

The opportunity has arisen within a Local Authority in the South East for a Strategic/Senior Manager to come and support with Children’s Social Care Sufficency Strategy for an initial 6 months. Reporting to the Service Director, you will lead on the Councils Children’s Social Care sufficiency strategy which requires an analysis of service needs to develop the Council’s commissioning activity and fostering and recruitment strategy.  

Your Role as the Strategic Manager for Placements and Sufficiency: 

Lead on the Councils Children Social Care sufficiency strategy (£6million  contract), which requires an analysis of service needs so that the Council can develop their commissioning activity/fostering and recruitment strategy (including marketing).
Review the children looked after placements to ensure the child is in the right home, that quality of care is provided, and identify appropriate transition plans.
Carry out forensic analysis review with the whole service, creating action plans with other managers on how development and look at how the Council achieves permanence for the Children and Young People.  
Be part of the senior leadership team to shape together activity and advocate collaborative working.  
Be able to project plan and work at pace to strict time frames.
Working with the placements team to set in place a review panel to review all children looked after, ensuring the home is right for the child.

Your previous experience as the Strategic Manager for Placements and Sufficiency:

Social Care background with knowledge of Children’s Commissioning Services.
Previous experience in a similar role
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Children’s Commissioner.  
Available references for most recent 2 year's roles and Enhanced DBS will be required.
