Job Description

This company has developed their own niche position supplying products to laboratories, research and educational establishments. They focus on high levels of service and readily available stock of their leading lines to differentiate their offer, as well as the capacity to manufacture specialist equipment to a high standard. It’s a good place to work where people tend to stay once settled. They’re looking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper with a broad set of experience in accounts (especially purchasing). They’d consider somebody looking for part-time work, although they prefer full time.  
 
THE ROLE
 
Reporting to a Director, this is an important role in the day-to-day running of the business. The organisation has a constant flow of goods in and out of their warehouse, and therefore busy with accounts and reconciliations that need to be up to date. The pace is constant, but the team works well together to their collective goals. You’ll help maintain accurate records, so the business has timely accounts that keep track of progress.
 
If you’re comfortable (and enjoy) detailed accounts work that also includes elements of customer and supplier contact to help maintain the integrity of the business, this could be an ideal opportunity to join an organisation with a unique market position.
 
THE CANDIDATE
 
You’re an experienced bookkeeper and familiar with any of the leading software accounts packages. You’ll be AAT qualified to Level 2, but experience on the job is what really counts. The ability to work accurately and move around a wide range of tasks is what’s needed.
 
Experience with the following would really help your application.

Working with an ERP system (This company uses “Khaos ERP”)
Bank and cash reconciliations
Month end reconciliations
Processing accruals and journals
Management Accounts
Credit Control
Query handling and management
Supplier payments And you’re a good person to have around a team.
 
GEOGRAPHY - The 60,000 sq. ft distribution centre and offices are in west Kent.
 
SALARY - Starting salary is in the region is to circa £33k, along with a discretionary bonus (that can be outlined at interview). They will seriously consider applicants who prefer part-time work, although their preference is full time.
