Quality Technicians

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for two Quality Technicians to join us to provide shopfloor quality problem resolution support as part of our onsite team at our automotive OEM client based in Oxford.

The requirement is for individuals with all round manufacturing quality knowledge to provide a responsive quality support function for assembly line and production line issues. These could be component, material or process based meaning the Quality Technician will be responsible for inspecting parts with potential issues, addressing those quality issues, and developing with client’s supervisory personnel suitable containments, corrections, rectifications ensuring there is a solution in place quickly to minimise effect on production.

Key Responsibilities for the Quality Technician:

* You will take ownership and lead on Quality Instructions, Level 0 activities, and Work Instructions generated for quality issues within the designated perimeter.

* Take ownership of managing and resolving quality issues identified by manufacturing and production areas.

* Effectively establish and communicate problem scenarios to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

* Review internal quality systems and processes and ensure timely progression of suspect components.

* Manage Third-Party Sorting actions onsite efficiently and transition containment activities to suppliers promptly.

* Follow and complete internal escalation processes for addressing problems and supplier issues.

* Ensure clear communication of quality-related topics to relevant personnel and business units.

* Fulfill any additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

* Produce detailed WES and WIS (Work Instructions) for the corrected process or methods.

* Efficiency in IT packages is essential for this role.

Experience required:

* Prior experience in Quality Technician or Senior Quality Inspector roles is essential along with knowledge of quality containment and corrective action planning / problem resolution.

* Strong understanding of SAP/ERP and online data recording / management systems for quality.

* Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings including interrogation from CAD system access.

* Utilizing basic measuring equipment as necessary to identify problem and corrective actions.

* Excellent MS Office capabilities including Word, Excel and Powerpoint

* Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a team environment.

* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

* Flexibility to work shifts, including night shifts, and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.

Shift Patterns:

* AM - 6am to 16:15pm

* PM - 4pm to 02:30am - (If VPO called will be further 30 mins added)

Pay: £16:00 - £17.50 (DOE) per hour + 25% Shift Premium After 22:00
