Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior PHP Engineer. Our client provides a market-leading SaaS platform for customers of all sizes. They are experiencing remarkable growth and are now seeking a talented Senior PHP Engineer to join their team to help evolve their platforms in line with business demand.

As the Senior PHP Engineer, you will join a small team of talented engineers, playing a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of their platform. Working closely with Product and the CTO, you will define target states and prioritize work to achieve objectives. This hands-on role involves daily contribution to the products, leveraging experience in building robust cloud-native web applications and ensuring quality across the board. Additionally, you will mentor other engineers, sharing knowledge and raising the bar in development, testing, and delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior PHP Developer:

Lead and implement changes to our SaaS platform across the full stack.
Define target architectures, balancing iterative improvements with larger-scale changes.
Mentor other members of the engineering team.
Improve code base quality and engineering processes, including deployments.
Stay current with best practices and acquire new skills as needed.
Ensure GDPR compliance, data, and system security.
Recommend technical solutions and resolve support inquiries.
Work closely with the CTO to define the future state of our platforms.Experience Required

Strong technical leadership and communication skills.
Demonstrable experience in writing reliable, OOP code.
Track record of building cloud-native architectures (preferably GCP).
Strong understanding of Agile SDLC and embedding quality and security.
Full stack development experience with PHP (Laravel and Lumen), JavaScript (jQuery), and SDLC tools.
Deep knowledge of relational databases (MySQL preferable).Desirable Skills

Understanding of 'Shift-Left' and 'Shift-Right' testing.
Previous experience mentoring or leading Engineering teams.
Familiarity with application monitoring tools (NewRelic preferred).
Experience with 'DevOps' areas such as containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC.
Experience with NodeJS, TypeScript, VueJS, or mobile application development.
