Job Description

Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician supports planned maintenance activities to ensure the upkeep of buildings, landscapes, factory and offices in line with the operational activities of the business.

The primary focus is on ensuring the maximum uptime on machinery whilst ensuring the machinery runs consistently to the highest tolerances and minimum waste.

The Maintenance Technician ensures the effective resolution of maintenance problems as they arise in line with the business' preventative maintenance plan including fault finding and breakdown repairs. The Maintenance Technician also supports the external maintenance program.

Core Tasks And Responsibilities

Involvement in all projects concerning buildings and site infrastructure.
Ensure all engineering maintenance work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation.
Repair production equipment to current Company standards to optimize performance of production machinery and ancillary equipment.
Plan for and assist with the installation of new or relocated machinery / equipment
Ensure Equipment is properly set up and maintained, monitoring performance and carrying out fault diagnosis and running adjustments/repairs as required.
Maintain accurate and organised records of your work, both written and electronicKnowledge, Skills and experience required

Essential

To have completed an approved apprenticeship with the relevant Level 3 Mechanical/Electrical Qualification or an engineering qualification.
At least five years post apprenticeship experience in a mechanical and/or electrical hands-on maintenance and/or engineering role·
Experience in problem-solving and rectification on a variety of equipment/machinery
Experience and understanding of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Experience of fault-finding using wiring diagrams
Knowledge of electro/mechanical equipment
A full, valid driving licence
Excellent communication and people skills
Strong organisational, planning and time-management ability
IT literate. Proficient in MS Office
Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
Previous maintenance experience in a factory environment
Physical agility and manual dexterity.Desirable
