We are currently recruiting for an Electrical & Controls Design Manager for our New Product Development department, who sit at the forefront of innovation within the business.

As the new Electrical & Controls Manager, you would adopt responsibility for electrical and control system design across the existing Dutypoint range of products as well as new products being developed.  This will involve working with 3rd party control panel manufacturers to provide design outputs for general power distribution systems as well as industrial control systems and electronics design. 

The role would also play a key part in the planned implementation of an IIOT system to enable us to offer a comprehensive remote monitoring service on our product range.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

· Support the new product development team with electrical and control system design for new products, primarily pump systems

· Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers as required to develop new circuit boards and control systems

· Evaluate existing products and identify opportunities to improve their electrical and control system design

· Be the go-to for internal technical advice regarding all things electrical and control

· Provide electrical technical content for product literature such as data sheets and O&M manuals

· Work with 3rd party IIOT systems provider as well as the Dutypoint service, technical and operations departments to help manage the implementation of a new IIOT / remote monitoring system.

This role may well evolve organically. This position may involve some site work, prototyping and involvement with Production and our Technical & Engineering team.

Hours of work: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (30 min lunch break). A degree of flexibility on working hours is possible for the right person.

Requirements

·        3+ years' experience in the industrial electrical and control systems space

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·        Willing to take on a broad spectrum of tasks and responsibilities and learn new skills

·        Team player

·        Willing to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

·        Experience in electronics / PCB design desirable

·        Experience in PLC programming desirable

·        Understanding of industrial control systems advantageous

·        Understanding of remote monitoring and control systems (electronics & computer programming side)

·        IT skills and knowledge advantageous.
