Job Description

CRS are currently assisting our prestigious client in sourcing a Financial Manager to join the team on a full time permanent basis, based in the Lancaster area.

As demand has grown for both the products and services provided by the client, the need for additional talented people has grown also. This is an excellent time to join a fantastic company who have year on year, continued to expand into the renewable and oil / gas markets.

The successful candidate will hold sufficient experience in a similar role and be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Whilst also holding previous experience with Work in Progress and Project Accounting.

You will have a strong attention to detail and be investigative in nature, proactive with a willingness to propose new ideas and suggest improvements to streamline processes and drive business improvements to support future business growth.

Finance Manager duties include:

* Responsible for preparing the Annual budget based on trading forecast provided by Senior Management. Ensuring this captures prior year position, and GP% and EBITDA is consistent with Senior Management expectations.

* Prepare monthly management accounts with supporting slides to be issued to the Group Finance Manager for consolidation in line with relevant reporting deadlines.

* Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, WIP and stock journals, and other accounting entries as required.

* Responsible for maintaining a separate schedule for major projects as directed, summarising the project result.

* Liaise closely with Project Teams to ensure proper financial planning and monitoring of projects.

* Reconcile the monthly stock take.

* Manage the working capital cycle of the business.

* Monitor the company's cash flow, providing updates to the Group Finance Manager as required.

* Complete payment runs of the business in line with reported cash flow statements seeking approvals in accordance with company procedures.

* Approve online banking payments, according to approved payment runs.

* Ensure all sales invoices are raised in a timely manner in accordance with the contractual payment milestones.

* Monitor on a regular basis the outstanding debtors and follow up with relevant personnel where any cash collection issues are identified.

* Maintain responsibility for the payroll process.

* Responsible for tax compliance including income tax, VAT, and corporation tax and reviewing monthly VAT returns.

* Ensure all research and development expenditure is captured. Collate this expenditure along with supporting documentation, work with R&D tax advisors and submit appropriate R&D tax claims.

* Responsible for preparing the audit file for the year end audit and liaising as appropriate with the auditors and tax advisers to complete the statutory accounts and corporation tax returns in line with the filing deadlines.

* Deal with any general financial issues arising within the company and highlight these to the Group Finance Manager and Managing Director as appropriate.

* Responsible for providing and interpreting financial information for informed decision-making.

* Assist to formulate strategic and long-term business plans to support business growth and management of change.

* Responsible for conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities in accordance with company procedures and business requirements.

* Assistance with developing a new ERP system.

Finance manager qualifications (essential):

* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

* Sufficient experience in a similar role

* Extensive experience in Microsoft Office, in particular excel

* Previous experience with Work in Progress and Project Accounting

* Sage Line 50 or 200 experience.

​Finance Manager preferred experience:

* Previous experience in the manufacturing industry
