Trainee 7.5 Driver in Inverness - The Sofa Delivery Company

Our Trainee Driver Role is part of our in-house Driving School. In your first 12 weeks of employment with us you'll be driving and delivering in a 3.5 Ton Van whilst we get you ready to take a driving test for your 7.5 Ton driving licence.
Whether its full training and instruction on how to drive or just a medical assessment, well guide and fund you to get what you need to drive a 7.5t vehicle. If you already have your 7.5 Ton entitlement, well give you the training to ensure youre safe and legal on the road and well get you going as soon as we can!
Whilst youre part of the Driving School Programme the Sofa Delivery Company will fund all elements of your learning so youll be able to attain the licence and well also give you time off-the-job to attend sessions during working hours. This includes your Theory & Hazard Tests, your Driver Training and your CPC.
Once youve completed all elements of the course, youll be promoted into a 7.5T Driver Role and become a fully-fledged member of our delivery team, and get a pay increase! - its a win-win!

Your day to day can vary from high rises to bungalows, recliners to footstools - youll be delivering it all and having a laugh with your colleagues along the way! The good news is, you dont have to have any experience- As long as you have a Driving Licence with 3 points or less, we can give you all the training you need!

What you'll be doing
Complete all deliveries into customers homes in a safe and professional manner, without causing any damage to furniture or customers' property
Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know youre on your way to their address
Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of
Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do
Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer
Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicle and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately
Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures

You have a valid Driving Licence with 3 points or less and no drink/drug driving convictions
You have held your standard driving licence for a minimum of 2 years
