Accountant – Energy from Waste plant

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Plant Accountant to join one of the leaders in the  UK Energy from Waste industry at their site in Deeside, North Wales. This EFW power station processes over 230,000 tonnes of waste per year generating up to 21MW of electricity for the grid.

The Plant Accountant will be responsible for providing efficient and confidential accounting and support services to the plant.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

Managing the financial PO reporting, accruals, and reconciliations for the purchases processes
Prepare and process month end journals
Balance sheet reconciliation
Review VAT returns
Review inventory transaction analysis and processes
All month end duties up to and including first draft of the variance analysis and cashflow
Month end review with the Assistant Financial Controller, Financial Controller and Plant Manager
Providing support, guidance and coaching to the Accounts Assistant
This role offers hybrid working 3 days in office 2 at home

To be considered for this role you should have:

At least 4 years of experience in a similar role at Accountant or Senior Assistant Accountant level
Be qualified to CIMA / ACCA level
Computer literate with strong MS Office skills – Word, Excel etc
Good written and verbal communication skill
