Job Summary

We are looking for a Production/Facilities Manager to join a growing team. There are two facilities, one focuses on architectural and structural metalwork and the other focuses on fabricated parts, sheet metalwork, laser cutting and powder coating.

The workings hours are ideally 8-5 but our client would consider 7-4 (or variations).

Responsibilities

* Oversee and streamline production operations of facility two

* Implement continuous process improvements to enhance production quality and reduce costs

* Providing the information to the buyer to procure materials at placement of customer orders

* Liaising with the workshop managers on how the work will be sequenced to meet customer deadlines

* Manage intercompany workflow between facilities

* Maintaining health and safety at both manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and standards

* Managing facility maintenance, plant maintenance and vehicle maintenance (six vehicles) and reporting on what improvements can be made to improve efficiency and associated costs involved

* Workshop resource management, arranging new hires and contract workers where and when required

* Ensuring quality is upheld in line with the accreditations and quality procedures

Required Skills

* Good computer literacy

* Excellent communication skills - written and verbal

* Proven background in manufacturing with a good understanding in manufacturing process

* Problem solving skills

* Excellent organisation skills

* Proficient in reading drawings

* Detail oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards

* Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

* Good customer communication and relationship building skills

* Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines

* Driving Licence

Desirable Skills

* IOSH or NEBOSH qualification

* Good general understanding of workshop and machinery maintenance

* Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in production/operations management in the manufacturing industry.
