Leading Components Manufacturer has a new opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer.

About the role:

The position of Manufacturing Engineer requires creative, analytical and developmental thinking, as well as qualifications and experience in a relevant field of manufacturing. The planning, implementation, optimisation and supervision of manufacturing processes are key requirements of this role.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you'll take responsibility for the implementation and definition of processes, as well as the dispositioning and treatment (return to conformity) of non-conforming products, in order to support the strategic and operational requirements of the business. An essential skill is the ability to communicate with employees involved in all stages of manufacture.

Duties may include:

Responsible for ensuring all manufacturing documentation (route cards, BOMs, work instructions) are created and maintained, ensuring all applicable customer requirements are met.
Develop and maintain manufacturing methods, ensuring that they are clearly defined and controlled effectively.
Working as the Engineering point of contact for the Material Review Board, where you will be required to have a strong involvement in the dispositioning of non-conforming parts, as well as drafting/approval of concessions, rework sheets and all other associated actions/documentation to support operational activities.
Managing the change review process (CRB), working within a board of stake-holders to asses the validity of proposed changes, and co-ordinating their implementation.
Working with the wider Engineering team to identify improvement initiatives, utilising a structured approach to identifying and implementing potential process changes within an agreed timescale.
Solving manufacturing problems, by establishing RCCA to resolve internal and external issues.
Supporting CI (Continuous Improvement) activities, whilst maintaining a zero-harm culture.
Regular, planned review of customer specifications, feeding back any updates into the manufacturing process via the CRB.
Assist in the compilation of FAIR's
Maintaining good working relationships with suppliers/customers, both written and verbally.
Support in the collection of data for estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals.
Support NPI activity, including, but not limited to, design reviews, input into pFMEA sessions, and the creation of technical documentation.
Assisting and supporting special process engineers in specific projects, or the implementation of process changes.
Staying on top of technological advancements.
To provide cover for other engineering disciplines as requested.

Skills and experience:

Degree, HND, HNC qualified.
of 1 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering
Able to interpret and apply engineering, quality and H&S standards and specifications.
Demonstrates a pragmatic and structured approach to problem solving.
Self-motivated, organised with excellent time management skills.
Strong 'team player', utilising all available resources to get the best result.
Engineering/manufacturing focused with a commercial awareness.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Computer literate including MS Office (MS Project is also desirable).
Strong understanding Engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & tolerancing).
Working knowledge of MRP systems, preferably Syspro.
