Postgraduate Research Finance Officer

Are you a skilled financial professional looking for a new opportunity? Our client, a prestigious research institution in Brunswick, Manchester, is seeking a dynamic Postgraduate Research Finance Officer to join their team! As the successful candidate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Postgraduate Research Finance Officer and ensuring the smooth financial operations of postgraduate research awards.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the operations of postgraduate research awards within an assigned portfolio
Act as a secondary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to Principal Investigators and Postgraduate Research Supervisors
Attend regular review meetings and ensure compliance with funding terms and conditions
Analyse financial data and provide forecasting and budgetary advice
Proactively manage workloads and prioritise conflicting deadlines
Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to change initiatives
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection requirements
Promote equality, diversity, and the University's policies and procedures

Essential Skills and Experience:

Studying towards a recognised CCAB professional accountancy qualification or equivalent
Previous experience in a finance environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong IT skills, including intermediate Excel skills and analytical abilities
High level of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to grasp complex details and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated initiative, innovation, and self-motivation
Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
Organised with the ability to manage competing workloads
Proven team player with a positive and supportive attitude

Desirable Skills and Experience:

Previous experience with Oracle Financials software
Experience in higher education and/or research administration
Studying towards level 3 or 4 of the AAT qualification
