Job Description

Are you just starting out in NDT and keen to enter the aerospace sector?
My client would consider those that haven't yet achieved required experience hours for certification (L1 or 2).
Even if your PT cert has lapsed, or you haven't achieved the required experience hours for certification, you would still be considered. Training is on offer.
Do you want to develop your career and expand your skills further? My client will provide extensive training in passivation and heat treatment.
Would you like the prospect of a 4-day working week?
If so, you could be supporting my client's Special Process Manager - yes, just you and him will be responsible for the company's NDT processes. This is a newly created role that will also encompass heat treatment and passivation processes.
This job will appeal to a self-starter who is willing and able to learn quickly and is aware of QA and H & S considerations associated with working in such a department.
You must be able to work unsupervised and have high personal integrity values.
My client is a recognised leader as a manufacturer of aerospace springs. These springs are handmade and finished to high tolerances. Their function is to operate in many safety-critical assemblies on an aircraft, for example: brake units, undercarriages, fuel and hydraulic systems, etc.
The company is currently small (circa 42 people) and has a great vibe about it. They have achieved tremendous growth and expect this to continue into the foreseeable future. Indeed, they are currently in the process of expanding their facility - it's an exciting time to join.
Job requirements:
* Hold EN 4179 Level 2 PT certification (other certifications in PT, L1 or 2 may be considered)
* Utilised NDT in an aerospace environment (desirable)
* Experience of Nadcap audits (desirable)
* Ability to manage H & S risks associated with above processes
* Strong attention to detail
* Highly motivated and articulate
* High standards of integrity
Job responsibilities:
* Penetrant testing (PT) of aerospace springs (fluorescent line)
* Operate the heat treatment and passivation processes associated with these springs (training will be given)
Hours of employment:
4 day week. Mon - Thurs 0700 to 1700
