We're looking for a talented Waste and transport Manager to work for our client.

JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the safety, security, maintenance and proper use of the public utility waste disposal and recycling facilities in accordance with the waste management licence and health and safety regulations. To lead and manage the waste, recycling and street cleansing services delivered by the council. These services currently consist of household and commercial waste and recycling collections, street cleansing and cleaning activities, deep cleaning and rapid response, bulky waste, fly tipping, flyposting, and graffiti.
 
 CORE RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

To lead and manage all matters relating to council transport including fleet, municipal vehicles, and workshop services.
Ensuring statutory compliance, service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Responsible for the direct management of all staff within the waste and transport service, agency staff and any contractors providing related services.
Responsibility for the equipment and vehicles associated with waste and transport.
Specifically responsible for the procurement, management, and disposal of all council vehicles.ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Significant management experience in both or either.- A waste/recycling service; or
- Fleet/ transport management service, to include a maintenance service.

Knowledge of the challenges facing rugby in relation to the relevant service areas.
Understands the need for potential awareness and sensitivity, and/or has experience of working productively in partnership with elected members.
Understands the importance of building and maintaining sound working relationships with them.
Membership of the charted institute of waste management of institute of transport engineers or a relevant degree.

THE PACKAGE

Basic salary:  Up to £28.32 per hour (PAYE)
Shift pattern: 7am – 5pm – Varied working hours.
Time frame: One month’s work, with the potential for extension.
References: This job requires 3 years of work history.
