Job Title: Business Development Manager
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 + Company Car
Location: Manchester
Shifts: Monday-Friday (8 hour shifts)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Due to an exciting period of growth, my client are now recruiting for a Business Development Manager.

They're seeking an energetic, motivated and articulate team player to Join their Wood recycling Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and retaining business growth opportunities within the Wood Recycling and Waste function by obtaining new clients and fostering business relationships to increase revenue from sales.

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for retaining business growth opportunities by gaining new clients and fostering business relationships to increase sales revenue.

Principal Job Duties:

Introduce new contracted customers to the business by means of signed service level agreements.
Develop and nurture effective working relationships with new and existing customers in person and via telephone and email communication
Source new clients and promote sales to them
Be knowledgeable about the full range of products and services offered
Identify opportunities to upsell to enhance sales revenue
Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities which can be turned into increased sales
Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales
Create detailed proposal documents, often as part of a formal bidding process which is largely dictated by the prospective customer
Liaise with 3rd party service suppliers
Review your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets
Gain a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements and present an appropriate pitch to make a sale
Make accurate and rapid cost calculations and provide customers with quotations
Feed future buying trends back to employers
Attend team meetings and share best practice with colleagues.
Work closely with the Senior Business Development Manager in the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies.
Help to develop a strong sales ethos within the team
Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
Handle objections by working through differences to a positive conclusion.Experience:

Previous experience of writing new client proposals and pitches which generate new businessSkills:

Ability to identify customer’s needs and challenges and present a solution which addresses these
A desire to work hard and exceed targets
Highly conscientious, diligent, self-motivating and enthusiastic
Ability to use a variety of styles to persuade, negotiate and influence appropriately
Highly organised with an ability to manage own time and plan short, medium, and long term
Ability to constantly juggle priorities to suit business demands
Highly charismatic, credible, and personable
Numerate, literate, and good communicator
Good IT/keyboard skills
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and disciplined
Ability to develop new skills and take instruction from all levels of managementKnowledge:

Advanced knowledge of modern CRM systems and full Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointJob Types: Full-time, Permanent

8 hour shift
Monday to FridayExperience:

Sales: 2 years (required)
Field Sales: 2 years (preferred)
