Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Company Overview: We are a leading main contractor specialising in high-quality construction projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and public sector developments. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget, we are seeking a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in London.

Position Overview: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a leading role in the commercial management of our projects, with a particular focus on claims management and contract administration. With a background in main contracting and a strong understanding of JCT forms of contract, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the commercial success of our projects and protecting the company's interests.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the commercial aspects of assigned projects, including cost control, procurement, and contract administration.

* Provide expert advice on contractual matters, ensuring compliance with JCT forms of contract and other relevant contractual provisions.

* Lead the preparation and submission of contractual claims, variations, and disputes, working closely with the legal team and external consultants as required.

* Conduct thorough cost analysis and risk assessments to identify potential opportunities and threats to project profitability.

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and resolving commercial issues effectively.

* Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help develop their skills.

* Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, valuations, and final accounts, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

* Collaborate with the project management team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Requirements:

* Minimum of 8 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for main contractors, with a proven track record of success in claims management and contract administration.

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

* Excellent understanding of JCT forms of contract and other standard forms of contract used in the construction industry.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex contractual provisions and produce accurate financial reports.

* Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across London and the surrounding areas.
