The Company:

Theo James Recruitment is delighted to partner with a manufacturer in Newcastle looking for an interim QSHE Manager. This position is suitable for a contract professional or someone seeking a fixed-term position lasting 8 months.

Job Description

* Control internal audit process to ensure the effectiveness of Quality Assurance Systems.

* Ensure Quality Assurance documentation system provides the organization with updated information.

* Effectively resolve day-to-day Quality issues in manufacturing to improve Quality and Customer Satisfaction

* Monitor inspections to ensure the quality of incoming goods.

* Continuous improvement of Quality processes

* Provision of Quality data as appropriate to measure operations to make long-term improvements.

* Drive Customer Quality and reduce internal scrap and customer returns.

* Control Process improvement activities.

* Efficiently process and report responses to customer concerns to determine root cause then plan corrective and preventative actions.

* Facilitate auditing programmes

* Lead company’s compliance with current and forthcoming Health and Safety legislation – including accident reporting, Fire Regulations and COSHH.

* Accreditation to all relevant industry standards including ISO14001.

* Implement and monitor the company’s Health and Safety & Environmental Policy

* Direct support and leadership of the Health, Safety & Environmental requirements to all departments.

* Audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems and procedures and identify and implement improvements are conducted regularly and consistently.

* Investigate and assist others in investigating the circumstances and causes of accidents are properly investigated and findings used as a basis for action to prevent a recurrence.

Skills & experience

* A degree or equivalent in an Engineering/Manufacturing discipline.

* Extensive experience in Quality Leadership.

* Knowledge of quality standards and requirements.

* NEBOSH Qualified

* Experience in being customer-facing and working with different teams, for example, Engineering, Maintenance, and Design.

Desirable

* Superb communication and interpersonal skills - characteristic of an inclusive but effective leadership style.

* COMAH Experience or experience within a chemical background

* The drive and determination to deliver top-quality products and a service to be proud of.

* In an analytical and methodical approach, there must be a keen eye for detail and a thorough but innovative problem-solving ability
