Bookkeeper / Payroll Controller in Guildford - CV-Library

A modern, forward-thinking, and growing firm of Accountants in Guildford is offering a superb opportunity for an experienced Payroll professional to join their team. Hybrid working and flexible hours are available. Applications are welcome from suitable candidates who seek part-time or full-time hours.

Please note our client can offer a pure Payroll job that is part time. It is envisaged you will be required circa 20-23 hours per week or the equivalent of 3 days. Should you seek a full-time role, then additional bookkeeping duties will be provided.

You will be joining a dynamic and supportive team and work closely with the Managers and Partners of the firm. The company provides payroll services and advice to wide range of SME clients, and you will be a main point of contact for some of those clients.

The role

The Payroll work is varied and will include the following:

Collate and Input all payroll information accurately and within required timescales including new starters, leavers and various adjustments.

Create and distribute pay slips and P45s

Administer all statutory payments e.g. SSP, SMP etc.

Liaise with Inland Revenue and other relevant bodies as required.

Respond to all client and employee payroll queries by phone and/or email

Ad-hoc reporting.

As mentioned earlier, should you seek a full-time role, you would also get involved in general bookkeeping. This will include general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations and the preparation of VAT Returns.

The salary banding set by Fletcher George is £30,000 - £38,000 FTE and the salary offered will depend on the person's relevant experience and the number of hours agreed.  Additional benefits include hybrid working, flexible hours, company pension, parking and study support.

Location – Based in lovely offices in Guildford, the firm is commutable from Cobham, Cranleigh, Dorking, Epsom, Farnham, Godalming, Leatherhead, Surbiton, Woking and the surrounding areas.
