South Craven School, supported by South Craven Academy Trust since May 2011, is an oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive school situated in a semi-rural location on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales with easy access to Leeds, Bradford and Greater Manchester.  South Craven achieves strong results at both GCSE and A level and has an excellent vocational programme.  It is an innovative and forward-thinking school.

Due to increased subject demand in iMedia, IT and Business, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the school for an enthusiastic and talented teacher to join our ambitious and well-resourced team; as a Teacher of iMedia, IT & Business. 

South Craven offers GCSE Business Studies and WJEC Retail Business in Key Stage 4 and A-level Business and BTEC Business in Sixth Form.  We also offer iMedia and GCSE Computer Science in Key Stage 4 and BTEC IT and CTEC Digital Media in Sixth Form. The successful candidate will be a strong practitioner, committed to ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning in the department.

The successful candidate will join the team September 2024.

This unique post offers excellent opportunities for either an experienced teacher, or an ECT.

The main duties and responsibilities of this post include:

Teaching all aspects of iMedia, IT and Business ideally across all key stages.
Developing and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the IT and Business curriculum.
Using appropriate teaching and learning, classroom and intervention strategies to motivate students and enable their progress.
To maintain effective formative and summative assessment and feedback systems.
Contributing actively to the policies and aspirations of the school
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

An ability to teach iMedia at key stage 4 and Computer Science at key stage 3.
An ability to teach IT at key stage 5.
An ability to teach Business Studies ideally across all key stages.
Personal ambition and the capacity for hard work.
