Financial Controller - Manufacturing/Construction Sector

One to One are proud to be working with an innovative, market leading manufacturing business based in Basildon, Essex. Thanks to a continuing demand in business, our client is recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller who will manage company budgets, support the continuous improvement strategy of Finance systems and processes, and cover financial, regulatory, and internal accounting delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance/accountancy and be fully qualified. You will have a project management and process review background, be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be proficient in advanced Microsoft Office systems. You will be a ‘hands-on’ individual, with strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain and build excellent working relationships with internal and external parties within the manufacturing/Industrial industry.
The salary awarded for this opportunity is up to £70,000 plus benefits (depending on experience)
25 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
Hours of work 08:00 – 17:30, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities will include:
* Accuracy and controls of Financial Accounts, (including VAT, CIS, PAYE), including sales ledger, purchase ledger invoicing and banking process
* Manage payroll and sub-contractor payments process, including legislative requirements (e.g., NI & Pensions), 'right to work' monitoring and reporting
* Statutory filing requirements and ensuring management are aware of their statutory responsibilities/updates
* Preparing and issuing weekly/monthly management reports (ad hoc costings, cashflow, CVR reporting)
* Supporting the ongoing review of systems, processes, procedures, and controls
* Controlling day to day activities and help drive projects to ensure delivery in accordance with plan, time, budget
* Technical problem solving to overcome obstacles, providing options / proposals.
* Ensure projects are sufficiently/clearly documented throughout their life cycle.
* Support other administrative teams, to help ease demand and/or as required.
* Enable clear communication to help ensure that the key objectives for the wider team are achieved.
* Building relationships and liaising with senior managers, heads of departments, external consultants, regulatory bodies, and the finance team.
* Seek to continuously improve the quality and value of administrative support provided by working with key colleagues
