Logistics and Material Planner

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday (Apply online only) or (Apply online only)

£20.79ph Umbrella

Lincoln

6 Month Contract

In this role you will plan, schedule and monitor the ordering of materials through the production cycle, prioritise schedules, customer orders or requisitions to determine items to be procured. You will also provide complex clerical support to materials management in data entry, filing and coordinating paper flow.

What are your responsibilities

Working with respective partners and project managers, you will provide materials management and logistics planning expertise to ensure Bogie and Wheelset Overhauls programs are accurately planned and mobilized.
Work with suppliers, including third party logistics providers to ensure Bogie and Wheelset Overhauls are planned and delivered to schedule.
Effective and proactive liaison at all levels to ensure the supply priorities of the main inventory, each fleet / contract is fully understood on a routine basis.
Coordinate and control the materials planning and forecasting process between the respective fleets and Materials Managers to ensure optimised inventory levels are achieved.
Keep material control system up to date and escalate areas of concern in a timely manner to the materials management.
Co-ordinate with external logistic suppliers to ensure items are collected and delivered on time.
Working with partners pro-actively to ensure items are sent for 3rd party overhaul to meet fleet plans.What qualifications and experience i desirable:

Someone with good knowledge of procurement and buying processes
Experience in stock control and inventory management
Detailed knowledge of materials, stores management procedures and warranty processes
Good knowledge of IT systems / software
Good organisational skills
