Job Description

This will require you to work with suppliers, to negotiate pricing based on our clients growing sales volumes, manage an efficient flow of components to facilitate product development and support ongoing cost-down of the product to achieve our clients cost target.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy: Assist in implementing a procurement strategy aligned with our growth plans.
Process Management: Develop, refine, and oversee procurement processes, including Goods-in, Inventory, Goods-out, and ERP system development.
Supplier Management: Identify new suppliers to procure the best products based on value, delivery schedules, sustainability practices, and quality.
Sourcing Leadership: Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, from RFI/RFQ through contract signing to supplier performance review.
Inventory Management: Process purchases, monitor inventory levels, track usage, and adjust procurement activities based on product demand.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Engineering and serve as the primary contact for all commercial supplier issues.
Data Analysis: Analyse spend data, generate statistics, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Logistics Support: Assist in inventory, stock, and logistics activities, including parts booking and kitting.

Qualifications & Experience:

Procurement Experience: Demonstrated experience in procurement within a related field.
Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers.
Commercial and Financial Acumen: Possess commercial and financial awareness with robust analytical abilities.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with suppliers.
ERP System Proficiency: Experience working with an industry-standard ERP system.
Quotation Analysis: Proficiency in detailed quotation analysis and the ability to develop/challenge pricing with suppliers.
ERP Process Development: Experience in developing ERP processes.
CIPS Certification: CIPS certification or studying towards it is preferred.
Manufacturing Background: Broad experience within manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry.
Cost Drivers Understanding: Understanding of key cost drivers in manufacturing processes.
Supply Base Management: A proven track record of end-to-end supply base management within the commercial vehicle industry.Hybrid working: 3 days on site

Salary: up to £45,000 depending on experience
