SEN Support Worker / PA in Surrey, KT12. Offering 30 plus hours per week supporting a fun loving, happy and sociable young man with complex care and medical needs in Walton on Thames. Up to £19.00 Gross per Hour

Nearest Tube/Station: Walton-on-Thames, 30 mins walk to family home

Wage/Salary: £17.00 Weekdays | £19.00 Weekends and Night shifts | Salary starting at £26,500.00 basic. Opportunity to earn over £30,000.00 with the weekend and waking night enhancement.

Start Date: ASAP

Days & Hours: 30 hours per week, more if desired to offer a full-time role. Rota provided 4 weeks in advance and will include working every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday, day, or night)

About this client/child: Cillian is 17 years old and lives at home with his Mum, Dad and 14-year-old brother. He is a cheeky chap with a love for music (any genre), disco parties in his therapy room, reading stories, watching funny movies, all things sensory, going out for walks, his hydro pool and spending time with his family and friends. He is a fun-loving, sociable, and engaging young man at the heart of a loving family and dedicated support team. Cillian has cerebral palsy, he is a wheelchair user, has a visual impairment, epilepsy, global development delay and receives his nutrition, fluids, and medication via a PEG. Cillian has an opening on his care team which provides 1:1 and at times 2:1 support and care including waking night support.

Overview of role: Cillian has an established routine in place and a jam-packed schedule that consists of therapy, school, activities, etc. As Cillian’s SEN Support Worker / PA, you will follow his care plan and assist him in all areas of his ADLs, personal care needs, manual handling, medication, PEG feed (Mum prepares feeds), therapy, and enabling his to access the world around him and participate in activities. Due to Cillian’s visual impairment, he needs clear communication to be prepared for what is happening. His seizures are usually tonic; protocols are in place and training is provided. When working a waking night, you will monitor Cillian via CCTV and assist as required with repositing, seizure management etc. Opportunity to travel with Cillian and his family, who most recently visited South Africa! This home is filled with banter, jokes, and laughing – the right fit is key, therefore shifts can be changed to suit your availability, although we do require that you are available for weekend work, twice per month. Shift pattern, term-time, Monday to Friday: 7.00am – 10.00am and 2.30pm – 10.00pm. Weekends: 7.00am – 1.00pm OR 4.00pm – 10.00pm | Waking Nights: 10.00pm – 7.00am. The rolling rota is based over 2 weeks, typically working 4 shifts the first week, and 3 shifts the following.
