Salary / benefits: c£45k depend upon experience plus benefits

Job Term: Permanent, Full Time, Onsite

Job Outline:

A leading designer and manufacturer of Fume Extraction Systems and Cupboards is now looking for a Design Engineer to join their Manufacturing Team in Somerset.

The Design Engineer is responsible for providing quality designs and drawings for all project and product requirements.

With numerous significant projects scheduled over the next few years, now is an exciting time to join as Design Engineer. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and develop your skills.

You will be responsible for shaping the product development programme, identifying opportunities to develop, enhance existing products and bring new products to market.

As Design Engineer you will manage the full product life cycle from initial concept, through to manufacture. Producing technical drawings for all standard and non-standard components prior to manufacturing.

With the majority of products being one off variations of the standard product range, you will be expected to do an approval drawing followed by manufacturing drawings and any revisions necessary.

Working closely with Engineering and Production, who are all on the same site, you will ensure your drawings and designs are Designed for Manufacture.

Qualifications:

Ideally you will be qualified to HND level, or above in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related Engineering discipline.

Experience:

As the successful Design Engineer, you will have experience working in an industrial Design Environment with Sheet Metal or Plastic Fabrication.

Working in a Design environment, you should be familiar with 3D CAD packages, ideally Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
