Job Description:
Are you passionate about ensuring buildings are equipped with top-notch mechanical and electrical (M&E) services? We're seeking a skilled Building Services Manager to oversee the design & installation of essential systems such as water, gas, electricity supplies, lighting, heating, air-conditioning, ICT, security systems, and lifts.

In this role, you'll have a bias towards Mechanical engineering with a good understanding of Electrical installations, which is highly desirable. You'll coordinate the installation of Mechanical and Electrical services and manage on-site M&E subcontractors.

Your tasks will include providing expertise on preconstruction, design, and delivery of services, carrying out full project coordination and management of M&E services from inception through to installation and handover.

Building Services Manager Responsibilities:

* Review installation plans and specifications for alignment with building/client requirements.

* Coordinate the installation of Mechanical and Electrical services.

* Manage on-site M&E subcontractors.

* Provide expertise on preconstruction, design, and delivery of services.

* Carry out full project coordination and management of M&E services from inception through to installation and handover.

* Review prices for services work and ensure cost-effectiveness.

* Test and inspect installations to verify compliance with standards.

* Ensure projects meet building regulations and health and safety requirements.

* Attend meetings, present progress reports, and effectively communicate ideas to managers and clients.

* Advise clients on the operation of building services post-completion.

* Implement measures to minimize energy wastage and promote environmental sustainability.

Building Services Manager Qualifications and Skills:

* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C Grade) or equivalent, including maths, science, and IT.

* BTEC in Building Services Engineering, Operations and Maintenance Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or HNC/HND/Degree in Building Services Engineering.

* Bias towards Mechanical engineering with a good understanding of Electrical installations.

* Technical proficiency and strong teamworking skills.

* Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

* Ability to adapt and coordinate with various stakeholders in a construction project.

* Understanding of building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental sustainability principles.
