Job Title: Clinical Psychologist
Location: Stoke on Trent and Wilmslow
Salary: £45,240 to £61,859 pro rata (depending on experience, skills and qualifications)
Hours: 32 hrs per week – ideally across 4 days but open to discussion)

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join an innovative provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities based across two sites in Stoke on Trent and Wilmslow.

The role:

As a Clinical Psychologist you will work as part of a therapy team across two schools. The Schools provide flexible day placements for students aged 5 to 19 years with communication and associated difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning.

The post will involve undertaking Clinical Psychology/Psychotherapy duties whilst adhering to professional and regulatory guidelines. You will carry out assessments, design individualised plans and strategies. As well as implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions; report writing and multi-professional reviews you will provide advice, information, and training to staff, as well as parents, commissioners, and other agencies. You will be supported by Assistant Psychologists and a school staff team of nurturing and enthusiastic Teachers and TA’s who are committed to providing the very best.

Essential Criteria:

* HCPC Registered practitioner psychologist of clinical, educational or counselling

* Previous experience working with children, special educational needs/mental health setting

* Good understanding of ethical principles underpinning practice

* Able to apply psychological theories to interventions

* Able to engage and adapt communication to working with young people directly as well as professionals and families

* Confident working in a team as well as independently

* Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively
