Test & Validation Engineer - Peterborough - Up to £36/hr - Inside IR35 - 12 month initial contract

Have you got experience working with off-highway vehicle/machine testing and integration? Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Test & Validation Engineer to join one of the world's leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines.

You will be involved in a variety of engine installation and test projects for off-highway machines and generator sets, primarily covering mechanical and electrical engine-to-machine integration, shakedown, and testing. 

As a Test & Validation Engineer, you will:

Effectively manage several projects simultaneously.
Operate a multitude of different vehicles, including excavators, back-hoe loaders, telehandlers and track-type tractors.
Diagnose and fix a range of faults on both engine and machine.
Work from engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical and hydraulic).
Travel to various off site test and development facilities.
To apply for this Test & Validation Engineer role, you will need formal education in an engineering discipline, preferably electrical or mechanical or equivalent experience. You will also require the following:

Demonstrable high level of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical/electronic aptitude with a good working knowledge of engines and machines.
A good understanding of instrumentation and its application.
Good experience and knowledge of how to test machines in field.
The ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the workgroup, as well as employees in other business units, customers, and suppliers.
