Position – Scaffold Manager
Based: Leeds
Client: My client has become a leading specialist in the building envelope, in particular roofing/building. They have a full order book and are expanding around the UK. They are currently looking to recruit a Project/Contract Manager for their Scaffolding division.
Reporting to: Director
Key Areas of Responsibility
Responsible for the supervision of scaffolding personnel to achieve contracted arrangements for the erection and disassembly of scaffold and access structures in line with formal Design Guidelines. Follow Company management system arrangements for health, safety, quality and environmental issues generally, and as included within each project plan.
Skills and Ability
* Perform supervisory activities in accordance with the guidance specified in the relative project documents e.g. Inspection and Test Plan (ITP); Method Statement; drawings; appropriate industry standards (NASC Guidance); reporting formats etc.
* Ensure Scaffold Team squad make-up consists of appropriately qualified personnel i.e. mix with ratio of advance scaffolders to basic and for structures involved.
* Carry out a pre-work survey of the work area to confirm Client instructions; area restrictions; access and egress arrangements; materials quantity and plant requirements.
* Supervise scaffolding personnel to ensure “Operatives” are carrying out their works to support the contracted scaffolding requirements, including support personnel.
* Prepare daily reports on agreed format(s) for the status of work and progress.
* Encourage best practice in all involved work disciplines and particularly with regard to health and safety and environmental issues.
* Carry out “Start of Shift” briefings with the workforce; including communication of all COSHH and Risk Assessment information relating to the planned workscope(s).
* Attend “Planning and Progress” meetings with the Operations Manager to discuss health and safety, manpower resources, equipment, material and any other issues.
Ideally you will hold an Advanced Scaffolder qualification and relevant industry certification to SMSTS, SSSTS; CISRS as applicable and have gained previous service industry experience in supervision, part of which shall be related to Scaffolding works associated with multi-project activity
