Salford

£14.40 per hour

Long Term Temporary

Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:00-15:30, Friday 07:30-12:30

Our large manufacturing client based in Manchester is seeking an experienced Despatch Operative to join their team on an ongoing contract.

Main Purpose of the Job

To receive, clean, pack, and despatch Metal Detector heads, systems, and spare parts following department procedures and standards.
To maintain the accuracy of our SAP business systems by entering and scanning information in a timely and accurate manner.
To handle the shipment of products to customers and ensure compliance with delivery and quality standards.
Contribute to the achievement of customer service and business targets.

Duties

Oversee the handover of completed heads and systems from Operations, ensuring quality standards are maintained. Collaborate with office staff as needed to ensure accurate and timely despatch of goods.
Clean and pack heads and systems according to department procedures and health and safety standards.
Receive and pack spare parts in accordance with department procedures.
Create labels and delivery documentation using PCs and printers. Ensure accurate and up-to-date information in the business system.
Manage product shipments, liaising with forwarders and office staff and handling shipping documentation.
Load vehicles using a Fork Lift Truck.
Drive the implementation of SAP Outbound disciplines in the Despatch department.
Ensure all tasks are completed in a secure and controlled environment.
Operate machinery as needed and trained (e.g. cranes, pump truck, banding machine, foaming apparatus, nail-gun).
Follow all health and safety rules and regulations.
Participate in local 5S initiatives to promote a safe, defect-free, and visually organised workplace.
Engage in continuous improvement efforts as directed.
Ensure compliance with COSHH and Known Consignor security regulations.
Adhere to company PPE requirements.
