Job Description

Our client has an exciting opportunity to join the team based in Cambridge as a Rolling Stock Maintenance Technician.

You'll benefit from:

* Salary of £36,684 per annum (or £17.64 per hour P.A.Y.E.)
* Fixed term rolling contract for 6 months, working an average of 40 hours per week

What will the Technician role include?
Reporting into the Team Leader this role will be based in Cambridge depot to provide warm storage
exams and technical support. Duties will include but are not limited to:
* Responsible for the exam work, preventative maintenance and corrective action of the
customers units
* Ensuring unit availability for wheel turning runs
* Carrying out the required rectification
* Ensuring safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI and local
work instructions
* Carry out work as allocated by the Team Leader within set timescales and to the recognised
standards
* Ensure that work sheets and electronic work recording documentation is signed off promptly
and correctly on completion of work

What will I need to be considered for the technician role
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering
* Previous experience, involvement and understanding of vehicle maintenance activities
* DMU maintenance, overhaul or fault diagnosis experience
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and provide technical solutions to problems
