Job Title: Software Solution Architect
Location: Broad Oak, Portsmouth (On-site)
Duration: 12 | Month(s), 37hrs per week
Hourly rate: £70 PAYE or £92.37 Umbrella
Role Description: As a senior member of the Training & Simulation team, the Solution Architect (Software) will play a critical role in shaping the strategic software solutions for the Maritime Synthetic Core (MSC). This position requires innovative problem solving and a deep understanding of software architecture within synthetic training environments.
Core Duties: Develop, document, and maintain MSC software architectures, ensuring clear communication and alignment with broader team objectives.
Design robust software architectures for training and simulation products, focusing on modernization, modularity, and integration of new capabilities.
Lead the definition and implementation of software configuration management processes and toolsets.
Support product integration and system architecture efforts across multiple project teams.
Contribute to bid proposals, ensuring comprehensive solution design and accurate software estimation.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient with host infrastructure systems and diverse software development languages.
Familiarity with network communications for both local and wide-area setups.
In-depth knowledge of synthetic environments and High Level Architecture (HLA).
Understanding of training systems, combat system capabilities, and their integration.
Up-to-date on technology trends and potential future direction
Expertise in designing integrated solutions involving system software and third-party applications
Exceptional problem-solving skills tailored to complex system and software challenges
Ability to independently drive significant portions of the software design process.
Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and effectively communicating complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
