Job Description

Technical Support Officer – Yeovilton
Salary £55,000 - £65,000
On-site working - 35 hour week
We’re a technical consultancy, partnering with UK government and NATO on mission-critical projects, and we’re looking for an experienced Technical Support Officer to join our small team embedded within the NATO Joint Electromagnetic Warfare Core Staff (NATO JEWCS) at RNAS Yeovilton.
As the Technical Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role within a multi-disciplined engineering team responsible for the on-site and deployed maintenance of the NATO JEWCS fleet of Electromagnetic Warfare training assets, including delivering packages of work relating to obsolescence management and capability enhancement.
We’re expecting that you’ll be looking for a business where you will be respected as an expert in your field, where you can be recognised for all the effort you put into getting things done, and where you can see the difference you’re making. You should be willing and able to travel occasionally within the UK and to countries within the NATO alliance. We recognise the importance of a good work-life balance, and along with a generous well-being allowance and benefits package, we offer our on-site team members a shorter than average working week with an early finish every Friday!
You’ll benefit from:
* 25 days annual leave inclusive of up to 3 days Christmas shut-down
* Buy or sell up to 5 days’ annual leave
* Two pension schemes to choose from
* Private Medical & Dental Insurance + discounts for additional family members
* Life Assurance scheme up to 4 x salary
* Share Save scheme
* Electric/Hybrid Car leasing scheme
* Cycle to work scheme
* Retail discounts
* Continuous Professional development support
* Annual Wellness Allowance
The invaluable experience you’ll bring, to help us achieve more
We’re expecting that you’ve done a similar role before, so you’ll know how to do it whilst spinning multiple plates. It would be great if you are educated to Degree Level in an Engineering related subject and have proven experience managing diverse technical teams responsible for the maintenance of modern avionics, radar, communication or EW systems. Management of Airworthiness in accordance with MAA, CAA, EASA or similar regulations is highly desirable as is experience of CIS service support and/or the management of cryptographic equipment. If you are a Chartered Engineer that would be wonderful although not a deal breaker as MASS are true proponents of learning and development and we will help you achieve your goals.
From your successful career, so-far, you’ll bring your proven experience of
* Ensuring adherence to engineering standards, policies and procedures
* Configuration and Change Management
* Resource and risk management
* Leadership and problem-solving
* Financial awareness and credible commercial acumen
* Demonstrable team-player ethos with a focus on customer relationship management
* Directly managing other managers and engineers
Our non-negotiables:
Due to the secure nature of the project you will be involved with, you must be
* A national of a country who is a member of the NATO Alliance
* Eligible to obtain and maintain a NATO Cosmic Top Secret (CTS) security clearance
* Eligible to work and live in the UK and be willing to deploy on exercises worldwide
And the nice to haves:
* Membership of an appropriate professional or chartered body
* Able and willing to support strategy and business development
