Job Description

Job Title: Responsible Business Champion (RBC)

Location: Belfast

Duration: Full Time Permanent position

Hours: work between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Fridays, usually working no more than 37 hours per week.

Salary: £29k.

Benefits on a permanent contract include: Opportunity to earn an on target annual performance bonus of 6-9% of base salary

On behalf of our client, a Northern Ireland provider of excellent service, delivering positive change with a forward looking attitude. We are seeking a Responsible Business Champion to become part of their Team, who will be responsible for shaping, implementing, and evaluating a high performing responsible programme that performs across the four pillars of their programme. The post holder will work with department colleagues, staff and external partners to assist in achieving excellent results, evolving established initiatives and introducing new ideas, partnerships and themes that best meet the needs of staff, the community the client services and the biodiversity of the local environment. The post holder will be a central figure in driving wider staff engagement and participating in workplace initiatives and shaping effective external partnerships.

The candidate will have work closely with relevant colleagues and partner organisations as the key point of contact to develop, oversee, support and evaluate RB activities, aligned to the wider business strategy as well as coordinating external RB activity within the local community, including overseeing Funds developed by the client.

You will also research and remain up to date with local initiatives that provide opportunities for business engagement e.g. Careers Fairs, National Apprenticeship Week/Mela Festival. You will represent the business at these events and other events including key regional events, industry groups and forums to identify emerging issues and where appropriate, work on collaborative projects e.g. Business in the Community events.

You will also work with HR colleagues to help inform and shape Group policies relating to RB and bring these to life with paper and digital assets while also assisting in the administration of Employee Forums and attending relevant meetings.

You will use your excellent communication and organisational skills to coordinate various staff social events as well as providing timely insights and content to support internal reporting requirements, annual publications and marketing materials.

The post holder will work with colleagues to enhance internal communication platforms, optimising employee engagement and volunteering and will undertake project work as requested by the Communications Manager.

The successful candidate will also keep up to date with new legislation, procedures, best practice and techniques, in particular relating to RB, ensuring that they are incorporated into the business’ ways of working as well as fulfilling any other duties and responsibilities from time to time that are reasonable and commensurate with the role.

Essential criteria

* Educated to degree level OR equivalent professional experience to include a relevant marketing qualification / accreditation.

* Be a confident communicator and presenter with experience engaging with, and influencing stakeholders.

* Highly computer and web literate, with excellent IT skills.

* Sound knowledge of capturing and editing video for social media use.

* Proficient at copywriting and proofreading.

* Excellent communication skills and organisational skills.

* Ability to prioritise, organise and manage a busy workload.

* Display initiative, creativity and enthusiasm in all aspects of their work.

* Possess a flexible and proactive working attitude.

Desirable criteria

* Previous experience in Internal Communications or Staff Engagement.

* Previous experience in responsible business activity (e.g. sponsorship or fundraising).
