Group Financial Controller | £75,000 - £85,000 + LTIP | Preston | Private Equity Backed SME

Axon Moore has exclusively partnered with a new client in the Preston area to recruit a Group Financial Controller. This is a newly created role to assist the CFO with preparation for an exit within a 2-3 year window.

This business has been through an exciting period of growth and has outgrown it’s existing finance function. They’re in need of a talented GFC who can come in and build a finance function that is fit for purpose and who can support the CFO with a range of ad-hoc projects that will be pivotal to their exit.

The ideal candidate will be:

Practice trained (ACA/ACCA) or a technical CIMA with experience in private equity
Experience of team leadership
Ability to evaluate and fix legacy accounting issues including systems
Best practice experience with reporting for internal and external stakeholders including private equity investors
Improve the overall timeliness and accuracy of accounts and reporting
Ability to hire and build a strong finance team with capacity for growth
Projects experience including M&A would be highly desirable

This is a role with a high degree of autonomy but will be mentored by a leading CFO. It is an exceptional role for a candidate looking to progress their career towards becoming an FD in their own right.
