Job Description

Abbey College in Malvern is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our friendly team. The role encompasses end to end responsibility for accounts payable, petty cash, student deposit accounts and pocket money accounts. Our Accounts Assistant also checks sales invoices and is responsible for credit control, so accounts experience is essential. We run payroll for between 50 and 70 staff; experience in payroll is an asset. We are looking for a strong team player, who handles large volumes of information in a structured and organised way. Candidates should possess excellent time management skills and have a strong ability to effectively manage and prioritise a wide and varied workload. The position encompasses communicating with a wide variety of people, including staff and students and so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must!

The management have a flexible approach to staff where possible; the team here is friendly and supportive. Although the finance assistant is expected to be a self-starter and take full responsibility for their role, there is support on hand in case of difficulties.

Essential requirements:-

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Accounts qualifications or qualified by experience.

* Computer literate, including skills in Excel and cloud based accounting software – Xero is a bonus.

* Payroll experience a bonus, extra points for Brightpay experience!

* Accurate data entry
