We currently have a fantastic vacancy for a new and exciting role of Multiply Engagement Coach.

‘Multiply’ is a government-funded programme to help adults improve their numeracy skills. Numeracy is the ability to understand and use maths in daily life, home, and work. Whether that be improving household finances, helping children with homework, making more sense of the stats and facts in the media, or improving numeracy skills specific to your line of work.

The role of the Multiply Engagement Coach will involve engaging with a range of community groups, organisations and projects within Cornwall, developing local community relationships with the aim of promoting the Multiply project and providing opportunities for local people to develop their numeracy skills by referring them to our delivery partners which are Cornwall College Group, Truro and Penwith College, Cornwall Council Adult Education Service and Council of Isle of Scilly

You’ll plan and facilitate engagement events to build interest around numeracy subjects like budgeting, reading train timetables and using excel for example with a goal to referring participants onto Multiply provision.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skill and able to communicate positively with participants who may feel anxious about maths and inspire them to share their experiences. You’ll be able to engage and support participants to have a more positive approach towards numbers.

Key Responsibilities

* Meet, and strive to exceed, personal performance targets (Key Performance Indicators).

* Build and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders/referral agencies to enhance our referral opportunities.

* Organise cohort groups where possible to maximise referrals

* Send referrals to the delivery partners via I-Navigator and keep a track of data using your dashboard.

Skills and Experience

Essential

* Good people skills and ability to engage well with the public, community groups and stakeholders

* Good working knowledge of the local labour market in the specified geographical locations

* GCSE or equivalent in English and Math’s at Grade C or above

* Fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes to include 365 products and modern digital technologies, i.e. Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business

* Experience of delivering services to meet targets

Desirable

* Knowledge of the employability industry

* Experience and Empathy towards people who are disadvantaged and understanding of barriers to employment and participants progression

* Understanding of how to affect positive behaviour change

* Experience of working with people in the provision of ‘information, advice & guidance’

* Full driving licence to enable deployment across Cornwall.
