Compliance Officer

£40,000 + Car allowance + Package

Bicester

Alecto Recruitment is working with a genuine market leader in the Anaerobic Digestion sector who has a portfolio of Anaerobic Digestion plants across the country and is recruiting for a Compliance Governance Manager.

Key Requirements:

Serve as the main liaison for Compliance with operational teams, the First Line compliance group, and support functions, gaining a deep understanding of regulations such as DSEAR, PAS 100/110, and the Environmental Protection Act.
Coordinate audit preparations and documentation with the Compliance Governance Manager, ensuring a grasp of relevant laws, regulations, and procedures to assess compliance.
Conduct internal audits on regulatory compliance, GDPR, health & safety, and ISO as per our clients system, evaluating practices, documenting evidence, and outlining corrective actions.
Engage with Site and Function Leads to discuss compliance results and establish actionable plans for compliance.
Analyse operational risks and controls, devise strategies to mitigate risks, and support updates to the Risk And Controls Matrix.
Help Site Leads navigate changes in regulations and safety procedures.
Provide Toolbox Talks on Health & Safety and emergency procedures.
Encourage the reporting of accidents and near misses.
Perform health and safety audits according to the audit plan.
Visit sites and attend meetings to ensure regulatory audit success and stay informed on operations.
Keep the Compliance Assurance Team updated on operations, assist with investigations, and participate in projects.
Take on ad-hoc investigations or projects as needed.
Represent the team at meetings and support overall team goals, site compliance, and budget management.

Qualifications & Skills needed:

Experience of working with Integrated Management Systems
Ability to work unsupervised and manage own workload
Ability to drive compliance requirements and achieve objectives
Strong data analytical aptitude, quality review capability and ability to convey complex information articulately
Aptitude for managing complex information and communicating in an easily-understandable way
Audit planning
Well-developed written and verbal communication
Experience of working in regulated industry preferred, ideally in compliance audit -based role
Practical experience of environmental and waste management (desirable)
Knowledge of EA permits, deployments etc
NEBOSH preferred
Full UK driving licence (Essential)
