Role: Senior Sous Chef

Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire

Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 per annum

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (40 - 45 hrs over 5 days)

✔ All candidates must have a valid UK driving licence

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

✔ A minimum of 1 years experience in similar Senior Sous Chef role

✔ A minimum of 3 years experience working in busy kitchen settings

✔ Must be experienced working with fresh, seasonal produce

✔ Requires proven experience leading and motivating teams of staff

✔ Must offer strong client management and customer service skills

✔ Requires experience working in high-end, fine dining settings

✔ Strong understanding of food safety and HACCP requirements

✔ Candidates with a Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification are preferred

✔ Other food preparation or health and safety qualifications are desirable

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

* Effectively supporting with all tasks across a multi-site business

* Leading and managing the wider kitchen team alongside the Head Chef

* Supporting the Head Chef with rota planning and absence management

* Typically working the breakfast and lunch, or lunch and dinner service

* Consistently maintaining strict hygiene and cleanliness standards

* Ensuring full compliance with company policy and UK law

* Preparing and cooking seasonal and other menu items as required

* Learning how to correctly use kitchen equipment and training staff as required

* Overseeing all production, stock, and operational kitchen concerns

* Helping to creatively and professionally plate dishes

* Stock management including placing new supplier orders

* Complying with health and safety regulations at all times

* Creating and implementing new food concepts and menu items

* Responsible for designing menus and assigning costs to products

* Assisting with cleaning the kitchen and food preparation areas

* Correctly labelling, storing and, rotating stock as required

* Helping to guide, train, and develop junior members of the team

* Recognising and supporting with training needs within the team

* Managing catering needs for business events and functions

* Creating and implementing change initiatives across the business
