Job Description
We are currently working with a specialist contractor working predominately within water infrastructure. They provide trenchless solutions that include pipe jacking, auger & guided boring, shaft sinking, and micro tunneling. The company is experiencing a period of growth and has an expanding client base and geographical presence working with some of the industry's leading tier 1 contractors and water companies across the UK.
To assist with the company’s expansion, they have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join their team. The position will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for the day-to-day site operations managing the direct workforce, subcontractors, health, safety, quality, stakeholder engagement, and site administration to ensure projects are handed over on budget and programme.
* Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to procure necessary materials and equipment.
* Oversee day-to-day operations at the construction site, including scheduling of work activities, resource allocation, and workflow coordination.
* Supervise site personnel, including subcontractors and laborers, to ensure adherence to project requirements and safety protocols.
* Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
* Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards.
* Conduct inspections and quality audits to verify compliance.
* Promote a culture of safety on the construction site by enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety briefings, and providing appropriate training to personnel.
* Identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks associated with construction activities, ensuring a safe working environment for all stakeholders.
* Act as a point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, project managers, regulatory authorities, and community representatives.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
* Proven experience in civil engineering projects.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
* Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to construction sites.
