Willowthorpe Care Home, part of the esteemed B&M Care Group in Berkhamsted, is on the lookout for a passionate Gardener. As a vital member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring the external and internal spaces of our home reflect the high standards of the B&M Rose Model of Dementia Care.
Contracted Hours: 16
Key Responsibilities as a Gardener:
External Duties:
Maintain flower beds, borders, and hanging baskets, ensuring timely watering.
Cut the grass as needed to uphold a tidy appearance.
Keep drives and pathways clean and free from debris.
Undertake gritting and snow clearance during adverse weather.
Clean low-level gutters and maintain outdoor furniture.
Ensure the upkeep of water features (if present) and manage waste disposal according to health & safety and infection control procedures.
Perform basic external home maintenance.
Internal Duties and Tasks:
Handle basic internal home maintenance tasks.
Assist in moving home furniture and equipment.
Take utility meter readings when requested.
Desirable Responsibilities:
Stand in for the existing Maintenance Operative during their leave.
Cover regulatory compliance checks for the home.
Skills, Characteristics, and Experience:
Essential attributes include holding a full driving license.
Provide your own basic tools.
