Role Description
There is an exciting opportunity to join our successful branch in Leeds as a New Business Property & Casualty Underwriter. As a key member of the team your focus will be on delivering profitable growth in line with our ambitious growth targets for 2024 and beyond.
You will have proven underwriting experience and excellent relationship management skills. You will also create new contacts by promoting a positive impression of Allianz whilst actively listening to your customer needs and providing great customer service that prompts positive feedback.
The purpose of this role is to build and maintain long-term sustainable trading relationships with a defined panel of brokers. You will be the primary point of contact for Property & Casualty enquiries, delivering profitable growth of the account in line with branch and team plans - working closely with Distribution colleagues and the local leadership team.
You will be part of a close-knit team that works well together, to consistently deliver strong results. We are looking for someone that has an excellent knowledge of the Property and Casualty market.
About You
Skills and Experience
Negotiate within authority and referring where appropriate to maximise customer growth including persuading, influencing and convincing customers of the benefits of an opposed course of action.
Provide suggestions to continuously improve the business in an ever-changing environment
Property, Casualty and speciality line market/product awareness
Support the wider teams by being proactive, enthusiastic and by challenging yourself to go out of your comfort zone
Dip CII Qualified or commitment to undertaking and progressing towards Dip CII qualification
Strong technical underwriting skills in Commercial Property and Casualty.
Excellent trading skills and a confident negotiator, with proven experience in handling large cases.
The ability to build, develop and maintain positive broker relationships.
A good team player, supportive to others with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Handling referrals from team as well as coaching and development of less experienced colleagues
