About the role:

We’re recruiting for an experienced Risk Consultant to join the NFU Mutual second line Group Operational Risk team, based in Stratford-Upon-Avon. This is an exciting role within our Risk Division, where tailored development opportunities and well-being are recognised as key to our success.

As Risk Consultant you’ll work across NFU Mutual to support the delivery of business objectives by embedding and managing the Group Risk Management Framework.

As part of a small team that focuses on the continuous improvement of our operational risk offering to the business, you’ll be key in driving the forward-thinking activities that continue to develop our risk maturity. With the support of the team, you’ll build and maintain strong relationships with your internal stakeholders, partnering with them to implement strategies and highlight risks.

Using your experience and knowledge of operational risk and the role of a second line team, this is an opportunity to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.

You’ll help us ensure that business risks are identified, assessed, managed, and monitored, and that we’re adapting and responding to the ever-changing dynamic world around us. You’ll help us to maintain, develop and embed our Risk Management Framework, by designing and delivering risk related education, training and awareness. You’ll also lead related forums and user groups and will be involved in risk related project work and assurance reviews.

With access to a wealth of data, you’ll produce insightful Management Information and deliver both formal and informal reports as well as thematic reviews. You’ll also be a champion for best practice, leveraging data investigations to form sound risk opinions and recommend solutions.

About you:

You bring your experience of collating, analysing and reporting risk information from a wide range of sources to various stakeholders, including risk governance committees, to your role.

You thrive on no two days being the same and readily adapt to changing demands, showing resilience to deliver objectives. Confident in Excel, Power BI you effectively produce, analyse and present data. You also have experience and knowledge of a second line risk function.

A strong communicator, you confidently present to key stakeholders at all levels and adapt your style to communicate technical, detailed information and investigation to a non-technical audience. You thrive in a collaborative team environment where you proactively build strong relationships, influence decision making and work towards shared ambitious goals.

To join our team, it’s essential that you have:

Experience of reviewing, monitoring, or implementing operational risk frameworks
