Infrastructure Manager – Fully Remote

CRG Recruitment are working with one of our clients to recruit an Infrastructure Manager to their business.

As the Infrastructure Manager you will be responsible for leading the infrastructure teams but still be technically hands on enough to work on projects as and when required.

We are looking for Infrastructure Managers with experience of environments with over 5,000 users.

Please note this role is fully remote with UK travel as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the infrastructure team, optimizing their skills and capabilities to meet both business-as-usual (BAU) and project requirements.

* Drive operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and end-user satisfaction by coordinating IT operations, production support, system and database administration, and network operations.

* Proactively maintain and enhance cloud solution software, making recommendations to improve system capabilities.

* Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).

* Manage IT resources, striking the right balance between tactical and strategic demands.

* Implement continuous improvement programs to enhance IT operations and stay abreast of industry best practices.

* Foster strong relationships with key IT product and service providers to ensure seamless collaboration and service delivery.

* Provide expert technical guidance for both tactical and operational initiatives.

* Evaluate the impact of IT industry trends on current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects.

* Collaborate with operational managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and implement solutions for improved service efficiency and effectiveness.

* Develop long-term plans to maintain cost-effectiveness and anticipate future infrastructure requirements.

* Contribute to the development of IT strategy planning activities.

* Monitor and assess vendor performance, ensuring quality, capacity, system responsiveness, and other key metrics.

* Proactively identify and mitigate infrastructure-related risks.

* Participate in budgetary processes to ensure efficient resource allocation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Minimum of 5 years of IT experience, including leading teams responsible for IT infrastructure operations, project delivery, and systems lifecycle management.

* Solid commercial hands on experience of Office365 Azure AWS VMware & Hyper-V

* Extensive expertise in network design and administration, data centre operations, database administration, and systems programming and administration.

* Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster team growth and development.

* Familiarity with ITIL practices and their practical application.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a logical and structured approach.

* Proven track record of successfully leading internal and external projects from inception to completion.

* Exceptional customer-centric mindset and the ability to manage customer expectations effectively.

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex ideas to senior management.

* In-depth understanding of business needs, with a focus on building trust and confidence with stakeholders.

* Experience delivering projects using leading-edge technologies and collaborating with vendors.

* Proficiency in managing vendor relationships and evaluating vendor performance.

* Strong knowledge of industry trends and their implications for enterprise infrastructure.

* Experience in budget planning and resource management.
