We are working with a large engineering company that operates in the Aerospace sector. An opportunity arose for a Design Quality Engineer to be working within the Quality Engineering Airframe Wing organisation. You will be interfacing with Engineering teams and suppliers around different locations in Europe, America, and Asia.
Overview of the role:
The role involves the resolution of quality issues and continuous improvement projects by setting the measurement standards and identifying/facilitating improvements to increase process performance and product adherence to standards, reliability of processes, and repeatability of processes at the initial design phase before any process changes are made and continuously through the life of a product.
What will be expected from you:
Drive and deliver improvement projects to support the achievement of the Engineering Wing quality targets.
Facilitate and support root cause analysis & practical problem-solving activities.
Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans to support the improvement of engineering performance and its associated deliverables.
Identify risks/issues relating to the quality of the engineering deliverable and facilitate, support, and drive standardised mitigation plans to prevent/mitigate risk linked to the product and its related processes.
Support the deployment of Quality standards and apply them within the Engineering organisation.
Capture lessons learned to improve organisation efficiency and product maturity.
What we are looking for in you:
Relevant Quality and/or Engineering Experience
Project Management knowledge
Understanding of Failure modes effects analysis
Understanding of root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 9S, 8D etc.)
Be able to demonstrate appropriate people skills and associated behaviours when interacting with all levels of the management structure.
Desirable:
Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management and Product Data Management Systems
Understanding of Engineering Drawing and Modification management
Experience in a Design or Manufacturing Engineering Environment
Ability to communicate in German both verbally and in written form.
Programming experience (JavaScript, Google apps script, Python…)
